Russell
M. Blain specializes in insolvencies, workouts, and bankruptcies
and primarily handles Chapter 11 reorganizations. He is
listed in "The Best Lawyers in America," in
"America's Leading Lawyers, (2004 ed.) for Business,"
Florida Trend's Florida Legal Elite and as a leading bankruptcy
practitioner in the State of Florida. He is active in
the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar, where he
serves as a member of the Executive Council and as chair
of the Bankruptcy/Uniform Commercial Code Committee. He
has spoken on bankruptcy topics for The Florida Bar and
various other seminar sponsors. He has headed up the firm's
representation in numerous cases, including Moltech Power
Systems and Moltech Corporation, Centurion Hospital of
Carrollwood, Ace Auto Parts, Colony Shops, Freedom Ford,
Southern Mill Creek, Peoples Restaurants, and Crown Auto
Dealerships.
Mr. Blain is a member of the American Bar Association
and the ABA section on Corporation, Banking and Business
Law. He is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association,
The Florida Bar, the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association,
the Commercial Law League of America, the American Bankruptcy
Institute, and the Ferguson-White American Inn of Court.
He serves on the mediation committee of the Bankruptcy
Court for the Middle District of Florida. He also serves
on the Board of Fellows of the University of Tampa.
Mr. Blain was born in Tampa, Florida, and was educated
at Vanderbilt University, where he received his B.A. magna
cum laude in 1974, and at the University of Florida, where
he received his J.D. in 1977. He served as Senior Executive
Editor of the University of Florida Law Review, and his
law review note was selected for publication and received
the Gertrude Brick Law Apprentice Award. He is a member
of Phi Delta Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa. Mr. Blain was
admitted to The Florida Bar in 1977. |
